Organization and governance

The Institute is led by two co-directors supported by an executive board, elected for a four-year term, and the Steering Committee (COPIL), which brings together representatives of the research and clinical teams involved. Together, they help define the scientific strategy, coordinate funding applications, and support the directors in the Institute’s development.

Co-Directors

Catherine Deneux is Research Professor (Inserm research director) in the OPPaLE Team – Obstetric, Perinatal, Paediatric Life Course Epidemiology- of the Center for Research in Epidemiology and StatisticS (CRESS), Paris. Her research focuses on women’s health in relation to pregnancy.

Vassilis Tsatsaris is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Port-Royal Maternity Hospital, and researcher at the Institut Cochin, Paris

Executive Board

  • Juliana Antero is Researcher at the INSEP Research Institute. Her research focuses on longitudinal monitoring of elite athletes.
  • Elie Azria is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Paris Saint-Joseph Hospital, and epidemiology researcher in the OPPaLE Team – Obstetric, Perinatal, Paediatric Life Course Epidemiology- of the Center for Research in Epidemiology and StatisticS (CRESS), Paris. His research focuses on social inequalities in perinatal health.
  • Clarisse Berthezène is Professor of British History at Université Paris Cité, and researcher at ECHELLES (UMR 8264). Her research focuses on History of social and gender inequalities in Europe (1870-1990).
  • Rosa Maria Bruno is Professor of Clinical Pharmacology at Hôpital Européen Georges Pompidou and researcher at PARCC (INSERM U970). Her research focuses on Vascular aging, cardiovascular prevention in women, and gender issues in medicine.
  • Ludivine Doridot is Inserm researcher at the Institut Cochin. Her research focuses on the Pathogenesis and innovative treatments of chronic fibro-inflammatory diseases and endometriosis.
  • Céline Méhats  is Research Professor (Inserm research director) at the Institut Cochin. Her research focuses on Genomics, epigenetics, and pathophysiology of reproduction.
  • Clémence Schantz is Sociologist and midwife, researcher at Ceped IRD. Her reseaarch ficuses on Sociology of maternal health, and cancer in West Africa and Southeast Asia.
  • Sarah Tebeka is psychiatrist at Hôpital Louis-Mourier and researcher at IPNP. Her research focuses on Perinatal and women’s mental health.

8 mars 2025 – « Santé des femmes, à nous de jouer ! »

À l’occasion du 8 mars 2025, l’Institut Santé des Femmes et l’Atrium Humanités et Sciences Sociales de l’Université Paris Cité ont proposé quatre ateliers gratuits autours de la santé sexuelle et reproductive des femmes. Lors de cet événement, des participants ont pu tester leurs connaissances sur différents sujets (endométriose, contraception, IST…), discuter avec des chercheuses et professionnelles de la santé et s’affronter lors d’un grand quiz sur les femmes et le sport !

En dépit des avancées considérables de la médecine au cours du dernier siècle, l’écart entre la santé des femmes et celles des hommes reste aujourd’hui trop important. Saviez-vous que loin devant le cancer du sein, les maladies cardiovasculaires sont aujourd’hui la première cause de mortalité chez les Femmes, bien plus atteintes et vulnérables face à ce fléau que les Hommes ? Si ces spécificités face aux maladies sont mal connues et leurs conséquences peu anticipées, c’est que le financement pour la Santé des Femmes dans le monde n’est pas à la hauteur : seulement 2% du budget de la recherche en santé y est aujourd’hui consacré. Il est vital d’inverser la tendance et de donner, grâce à la recherche, des armes aux Femmes pour vivre en meilleure santé !

Du 24 au 26 octobre derniers, une délégation de quatorze enseignantes-chercheuses et enseignants-chercheurs de la Faculté de Santé, menée par le Doyen Matthieu Resche-Rigon et le codirecteur de l’Institut de Santé des Femmes, Vassilis Tsatsaris, s’est rendue à Singapour pour la Women’s Health Conference 2024. Moment riche d’échanges scientifiques, et nouvelle étape du partenariat entre l’université Paris Cité et la National University of Singapore.
