From 24 to 26 September 2025, the third edition of the Women’s Health Conference (WHC) will take place at Université Paris Cité, gathering global leaders in women’s health to drive progress and foster international dialogue.
The conference is a flagship initiative of the Institute for Women and Interdisciplinary research in Science and Health (iWISH), Université Paris Cité’s Interdisciplinary Women’s Health Institute. Developed in partnership with the Global Centre for Asian Women’s Health at the National University of Singapore, this international collaboration now welcomes two new institutional partners: the T.H. Chan School of Public Health at Harvard University and the Stanford School of Medicine. Together, these four institutions bring scientific excellence and global reach to a shared commitment: building equity in women’s health throughout the life course.
The 2025 edition will tackle a focused set of issues: the specific challenges of healthy aging in women, the persistent gap in cardiovascular care, the underdiagnosis of diseases like gynaecological cancers, and the sharp rise in mental health concerns among women. It will feature sessions on the effects of gender-based violence, the health impacts of climate change, and the need to redesign research to better include female patients. Participants can expect practical workshops, presentations of new research, and discussions on how policy, funding, and education can respond to these challenges.
A Global Health Priority
Women’s health remains a global concern. From maternal mortality and cardiovascular disease to cancer and mental health, women face unique and often overlooked challenges throughout their lives. The World Economic Forum reports that women still spend 25% more of their lives in poor health than men. Yet, less than 2% of global R&D funding is dedicated to women-specific conditions.
The WHC 2025 addresses the urgent need for change. It provides a platform to bridge data gaps, promote inclusion in clinical research, and shape better care delivery systems for women worldwide.
